True Mama

Reasons you know you are a TRUE mommy-

1- You realize its 5:00pm and you are still in your pj's.

2- Your topic of conversation is the sweet sale on produce at your local grocery store. (Haley- did you stock up on asparagus or what?)

3- The silence during nap time is enjoyable and not scary anymore.

4- You realize you haven't had your picture taken since the baby was born.

5- A walk to the mailbox is the funnest and most refreshing part of the day.

6- You hear every firetruck, airplane and tractor from miles away.

and last but not least...you find things like this in the dishwasher.

To all you mommies out there...Have a great day!

GNO weekend

Friday- We departed at 3pm, stopped by narji (a very darling childrens store in southtown mall), were stuck in traffic for a good hour, then we hit tawain imports and the wood connection. Checked into the Hilton (thanks priceline), walked to the most delicious italian resteraunt "Buca De Beppo" and shared a yummy meal. We then hit kingsbury hall and watched the audosy dance company perform "shut up and dance". They danced to all beatles songs..SO GOOD! A little hot tub later, and some Pj talk and then night night.

Saturday- Felt very nice to sleep in and lingerly get ready for the day. We cruised around Sugar house in dads stoner style dodge truck. We had about 15 different addresses to consignment antique shops and are lucky we didn't wreck the precious truck finding all of them. here a little peak of one called "emilyjane"....SO darling!

Haley picked up a few retro chairs and props for her photography. Now, you are ALL going to want her to take your pics! (haleyannwarner.com) We counted about 15 stores we went in. I have So many new fun ideas i want to try now and if you ever have junk you don't know what to do with...check these stores out and you will get trillions of cute ideas!

Girls weekend...MUCH needed! Thanks to my wonderful mom and sister. They are the best!

Teeth Issues

Dentist- "describe what the pain feels like?"
Me- "shooting pains up my face into my eyes and brain and lasts up to 10 minutes sometimes...i want to pull my tooth out."
Dentist- "doesn't sound fun, lets take care of it."
Me- "Great...or you can save me money and let me take home some of that numbing medicine you shoot into my gums and that would solve everything." (Im so funny, i know)
The drilling starts, I'm numb, the spit sucker is at full action, the clay cement mold is running down my throat making me gag... I lay patiently with spit dribbling out my mouth as the assistant makes me fake tooth (temporary crown). The procedure lasts an hour as i try to focus on the music i picked out on their ipod they provide for your listening pleasure. I think "The Fray" is always going to remind me of my painful tooth from now on. Anywho, as my "fake tooth" dries, Dentist decides to fill another cavity while we wait. Why not? Im finally done and procede to meet with the billing lady.
Billing lady Linda- "So, shall i bill your parents insurace then?"
Me- (thinking) very very tempting....they wont even notice. "Mmmm, im married so im not on their insurance anymore."
Billing lady Linda- "Darnit...well then i will give you a bookeeping discount to help you out a bit."
Me- "Super, becuase i don't have dental insurace."
Billing Lady Linda- "Ok, so its $736.50 total.
Me- Silence.... as i write my check with my shaking hands and numb face. Thinking any minute i am going to burst into tears because $700.00 is ALOT to someone like me.
I leave the dentist in tears. On a positive note, i wont hurt anymore when i breathe, drink or eat on the right side of my mouth. Lets just say i am DONE eating candy and owen better not by cursed with bad teeth like his mom.
In closing, i am sorry to complain for the 2nd post in a row and reminding you all to brush and floss everyday and throw our all that taffy and bubblegum!
Happy Thursday.
P.S. My dentist really is the best in the world so if you are in need, Call Dr Robert Jones!

A Little Frustration...

So lately Tyson and I have been very very casually house hunting, you know, to see what's out there in the world behind renters eyes. Its almost become a hobbie of ours to drive around through neighborhoods and critique all the houses and put together our dream house. Of course this gets me really excited to buy a house someday...except for the fact that EVERYTHINGS IS OUT- RAGIOUSLY EXPENSIVE! You'd think we were in Cali with the prices these days! It makes me so frustrated...and we always end up going home to our little rental house angry. I know i must not give up and keep a positive attitude but at this rate, we won't ever have a house! I thought a blog was a good way to vent my frustration. To make things happier....

here is a little view of an old house i absolutely love...

How cute is this little breakfast hutch built right into the wall....LOVE LOVE!

bUgs, SwiNgS, and WaGonS

That pretty much sums up what this little guy is made of. We spend every hour outside "throwing wocks (rocks)", "winging" (swinging), Finding bugs and going on "wides" in the wagon.

Here we are Searching for bugs and then behind my back, Owen squishes them and gets really excited to find more. Happy hunting.

Owen & Ketchup

This Weekend we made Owen Tator tots and we discovered his LOVE for ketchup. He just sucks the red stuff right off those tots. Other weekend activities included- going to the park, looking at the llama that lives next door. (the owner said he could hook up a buggie to the llama and he would take Owen for a ride around the field. P.S. Owen is obsessed with llamas.) making yummy sugar cookies, visiting gma and gpa, saturday morning run and the fantasy baseball draft...Oh joy.

Slumber Parties with Papa

This past weekend Owen and I enjoyed a 3 day slumber party at gma and gpa house while Tyson was off on his boys trip to Arizona. Here are a few details...

Blanket Dragging all around the house,

Charlottes Web movie and cuddles with Grandpa (he didn't leave his site the whole time)

A beautiful Saturday afternoon run with Dad by the maple mountain. The hugest and most beautiful mountain in Utah (by my standards)

And singing the bumble bee song with Grandma.
What a fun weekend.... Owen keeps asking for papa and the piggies (charlottes web).

LONG AWAITED SWEATERS...

The Very much anticipated "UGLY SWEATER" night finally made it to my parents house. Here is a preview of what happened that night and who went home with the prizes...

Haley went away with 1st place with a beautiful Gold and black knee length, mock sweater embelished with red carnations.

Aaron won 4th place because he was wearing a womens sweater.

Tyson walked away with the 2nd place prize after he sported a nautical theme piece that had lovely gold shooting stars embellished all throughout the number. The undertee was a scoop neck cotton blend that showed off just the right touch of chest hair. Way to go honey!

I had to improvize because the nautical sweater was actually mine but since Tysons' sweater was a little too tight, we switched. I added my own touch by adding shoulder pads. No sweater can win a prize without shoulder pads....and that is how i won 3rd place.

MOm and Owen matched in their bright, cheery and "alot going on" sweaters. I don't know what happened to the pic of Dad so that will be a fun surpise to post later. Overall, the night was a success and i went home with a very cute necklace for my prize! I already look forward to next year!

12 hours

So....Tyson has been out of town for 12 hours so far and this is what Owen has done in that time-

-Kept me up ALL night wanting "the fishies" (finding nemo)

-Threw all of his breakfast on the floor and attempted to vacuum it up, spreading eggs and peanut butter sandwich all through the house

-Dumped an entire water bottle down the front of his shirt

and last but definately not least....

- opened a containter of vaseline and spread it all over his head, feet, hands and TV. (too bad i didn't have my camera)

ALOT CAN HAPPEN IN 12 HOURS....To be Continued

Oh the joys of motherhood.

This is the face of mischief!
