Good times

Iv'e been a good boy mommy....Merry Christmas !

Chrismas Eve day wasting a little time at the park.

This year i had way too much fun watching Owen be terrified of Santa. Maybe next year he will on Owens good list.

Holiday in review

Owen awaits "nanta" Claus with hope of getting something besides clothes and shoes that mommy picks out. He's been a good boy this year Santa, besides the tantrums and "no mommy's" i hear way too often.

To review our beloved holiday season, it kicked off with the first big snowstorm of the season.... Owen played in the snow for the first time and apparently found it too cold to stand.... After buying him mini gloves, a sled, hats, and a coat. Maybe next year? We celebrated Tysons 24th Birthday and he was awarded this beautiful animated dear from his darling wife :) to adorn our front yard. We visit way too many family shin-digs and opened way too many presents. It makes me think that next year maybe we will take a trip to a warm island and count that as Christmas...with family of course. In conclusion...we ate way too much food, worked out way less than we should, stayed up way too late most nights playing rumicube, spent way too much time being lazy but most of all had WAY TOO MUCH FUN being with all of our families, thinking how lucky we are and reading stories that really do ring true to the true meaning of Christmas!

The finished project

We made cookies for Grandpa Barts 50th birthday (your welcome grandpa)....and wrapped them up all nice and drew him a picture. What a productive day!

A great helper...

Hershey's Kiss Cookies

1/2 cup butter, softened.
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 tbls milk
Beat together butter, sugar, egg, vanilla. Add milk gradually. Mix dry ingred. together and add to wet ingred. Roll into 1 inch balls and then dip in powdered sugar. (i mixed my powdered sugar with red sprinkles to give it a little Christmas zing). Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 mins at 350. ONce they are done baking, cool for 2-3 mins and then put a kiss in the middle of the cookie. ( i used the candy cane peppermint stripped hersheys kisses and it was SOO good).

The Joy of cookie making with a 1 year old

Yes, that is right folks. While i turned my back for 2 seconds to put the cookies in the oven, Owen seemed to have found the flour, dumped it out on the floor and then proceeded to stick his face in it?? (Ever wonder what toddlers are thinking in the act of doing something naughty?) Anywho, we made a mess but had a great time. PS. i posted the recipe of the cookies i made because i thought they were delicious and not like your average, everyday cookie! I got the recipe off the hershey's website...YUMMY!

Sunshine or Chocolate...

Tis the season to dye the ol hair. Every winter i seem to get this urge to be a darkie. (meaning...i really really want dark hair). So i did it again. I guess the question is this....for all you "mousy" blondes out there, how do you do it? When i am blonde i have to color my hair once a month, and that adds up people $$. But then i go dark and love it for a month then seem to get the urge that "i can't pull this off, im just a blonde and thats just me", so then a month later, i am back to blonde. Pretty soon i won't have any hair from all the damage. I need advice. Blondies, im talkin to you!

A week changes all...

Another sunday had come and gone until we get an invitation to visit the bishops office. Bishopric member- "So, we are here to give you a new calling". Us- "Great, throw it at us." Bishopric member- "How do you feel about the nursery?". I then take a horrified glance at Tyson only to see nothing but sugar plums dancing in his head. It was smiles all the rest of the day. A week goes by and Tyson axiously awaits the hour of 10:00am when he finally gets to be in kiddie heaven. The nursery doors open and all i can see is a cloud of perfectly round, wet bubbles, the smell of fishy crackers and the rickety rack of trains and cars that have been in that room since 1982. Of course the children flock to Tyson and i am feeling a little out of my element. Its tough going from the array of tears and visiting teaching fliers of the relief society to squeels and saggy diapers of the nursery. Little did i know my attitude was about to change. "wead me dis book"? Sydney asked with full hope. I turn the pages to see a picture of the salt lake temple. "whats that"? I ask with obviousness she won't be able to answer my question. "its da temple, its where i get maorweeed". Syndey answered as she touched her denim dress over her heart. What a difference a week can make!
