A favor...

Hi Friends....so remember when i told you about my new little job adventure. Well, i have been writing blogs for Tysons cousin's jewelry company called "all jeweled up". I have written lots of posts and have pictures of their jewelry. My favor to ask of you all is if you would be so kind to go onto 1 or all 3 (if you are feeling really favor-y) and post a comment on what you think of the jewelry or just any kind of post. He would like traffic to get to his blogs so i thought of my fellow blogging friends. Here are the links-

happy friday

The point of my picture is to cheer me up. I wish i could LIVE in a boat on the lake.... Its been a tiring day. I woke up this morning with pain shooting up my face (again). I called the dentist crying....at 7am. Poor fella. I ended up going in for a root canal. Crappy....then i spent most the day chasing Owen around as he destroyed my house as my head pounded. Then off to the laundry mat (because we don't have a washer and dryer right now) and thats always a fun time. ha. I was looking forward to going to chucky cheese for a birthday party for Owens cousin Will tonight...but by the time we got up there (after 45 minutes of traffic) the power was out and i had to turn around with a screaming boy in the back seat and head home. " i want chuncky seez and a gink (drink) of pop" was what i heard the whole way home. Poor guy. The night ended well with dinner at costa vida with my sister. Thank you husbands for watching the kids for a hour! Days like this....i wish i lived on a boat. night night.

Home Preview day 6...i think?

Ta Da....here is the room we spend the most time in...(between here and the kitchen). Introducing our family room. As you can see i LOVE color once again.

My favorite part about our family room is the trunk my mom handed down to me. She collects all sorts of antiques and was kind enough to hand something special down to me. Special because this trunk came over from England with my ancestors. It still has the little nooks for clothes and things to pack in it. I use it for a little entrance table...just haven't found anything cute to put on top of it.

Weekend

So a little break from our home preview will allow me to highlight my wonderful weekend.
To kick off the weekend, we had a game of kickball at the park. Here i am in action right before my big kick.

After only the 1st inning, we had every kid in the neighborhood join our game....it got quite competitive with all those 10 year olds.

Then we decided to hike the Y. Seeing that our house is down the street from the trail, i wanted to take advantage of that. Problem was....we couldn't find Owen backpack to we carried him on our shoulders the whole way up. Not the best idea...

Here we are at the Y, with headless Owen. Sorry buddy.

Home Preview day #4

Since we dont have an actual bed with a headboard and everything, i had to make something nifty to put above the bed. They are my favorite...so full of color. Gives our room a bit of color!

Home Preview day # 3

Today i highlight my porch...it was an "add on" when we moved in, and what a great "add on" it was. Owen and I love to sit on the porch, water the flower pots and eat popsycles. What is better than that?

Today for the 1st day of my home preview...i would like to highlight my favorite part of my house....my beautiful garden. Actually, i can't take full credit because a neighbor has been taking care of it while the house has been vacant...but she is so sweet to share this season all of her goodies she has grown. The garden consists of everything you could think of, from every sort of lettuce, to basil, strawberries, squash and cucmbers. It smells divine and looks green and fresh. I can't wait to cook spagetti with my fresh basil!

The Fourth

Our holiday started with the colonial days. We walked around the booths, had delicious chicken bowls and Owen went on his first carnival ride- the boat. Wasn't too sure about it. The 4th was filled with activities. A few family members started the day with the FREEDOM RUN 10k and 5k. We then had a light brunch at my house (which was a bonus being across the street from the finish line). We went swimming and Owen took a plunge off the diving board (don't mind the pink floaties). Brave little guy. I took a nap and then we started our trek to the stadium of fire. It was burning with desire. Im glad to be an AMERICAN!
