Remember Yesterday

Remember what a good day Yesterday was? I do...

This little guy is finally getting some yummy baby fat and smiled at me for the first time.

I ran 5 miles outside today...the furthest so far and i was sweating heavily in a long sleeved shirt. the sun on my face was perfect medicine AND i was whistle worthy again. I was so proud that i got a whistle from a dirty old man in a jacked up chevy...happy day.

I also realized how great of buddies i have made from the wonderful blogging world. Thanks Kate for the wonderful visit and book!! I look forward to more...and HELLO, thank you Mary for the cute little outfit in the mail!! Why are ya'll so nice out there?!

And I'll DANcE if i want TO! So Kevin (tysons good buddy) had a birthday bash this weekend...his wife Emily put all us other "wives" to shame with a chocolate fountain, taco bar, a HUGE chocolate cake and a dAncE oFF! It was hilarious. Tyson wow'd us all with his "c-walking". Like father like son...Owen was a maniac too.

The fun continued with a little slumber party we had with my newphews. 5 boys+ one house-hold= alot of testosterone and video-games. Mario cart and james bond (sorry haley, but it was Coles FAVORITE). pizza and a little "bridge to teribithia" then hide N seek and story time. 6:30am came way too early, but i have to admit, it was pretty darn fun!

Favorite vacation- "disneyland when i turned 6."

Favorite ride at disneyland- "california screamer. the time i went with grandpa. I could have chosen to sit on the front row, but i didn't. i chose the 2nd row that time."

Favorite Holiday- "december, then july and september and June."

Favorite Christmas Present- "last year...my batman bike and these jammies. This year it was my skateboard."

Favorite Day of week- "saturday because i don't have to go to school. I don't have to go to church. i can just play with friends and do fun stuff."

Favorite person-"actually i am going to say the biggest person i know". Its grandpa Chuck...you know grandpa's Daves dad. Like when he walks into the kitchen from the living room, he can touch the ceiling. He is the biggest person i know."

Favorite word-" You and Truman" or when i talk to my brother i say "be quiet" and "go play with that for a minute" alot."

Getting to know my peeps-PART 1

How did you meet your lovely wife?

I came down from Seattle to go to UVSC and my aunt Linda set me up with Lindsey (she was Linda's neighbor). We ended up living in the same apartment complex and Lindsey was just the diamond in the rough. I left on my mission 9 months later and she was here waiting when i got back. We were married 5 months later.

What would you do with a million dollars?

I would invest in into my kids athletics and hope they make me 10 million dollars.

Favorite past time activity?

Cuddling with my wife (i swear i didn't tell him to say that...although i do think he is lying).

What makes you happy?

When Owen says,"Dad, were best friends".

Favorite Holiday? Christmas

favorite day of the week? Thursday (because people always say friday or saturday)

Biggest Accomplishment? Eating raw brocolli for dinner tonight. Nasty! (im in a weight losing contest and will do ANYTHING to win).

Passionate about? Dr Pepper, Tucanos, my hair, children, my calling in the primary, people watching, playing or watching sports, entertaining people, my family, being a good example to my kids and wife.

Getting to know you...

Since i have a lack of things to post about...and ya'll are probably sick of seeing pics of my kids, i am going to do a segment called "getting to know my peeps". That way, instead of hearing from me all the time, you get to know who my peeps (family) are and who i LOVE hangin out with. Heck, these people are what made me who i am. Stay tuned....for "getting to know my peeps" starts on the morrow.

New shoes to motivate

This weekend we bought me some new kicks. As seen below. These are for the purpose to get me ready for THIS.
I have to admit, our team is funner than fun! We had a team meeting already. I have 4 months to train. I started working out a couple weeks ago and progress is going well but will take time. Lets just say im glad its no marathon or ide be in trouble. Happy training.

This valentines day i love-

Date night with the hubby to PF Changs (nothin says love like a little Moo go guy pan and triple chocolate cake with rasperry sauce...which wasn't a mistake until i tried on clothes an hour later) and a shopping spree at target for some new clothes. Very refreshing. Thanks dear hubby.

My budding photographer Owen who takes pictures all day of me, the potty, his blocks and any other random thing he finds interesting.

My little reggie-rito who is 1 month old today. Despite his acid reflux and his ability to keep me up all night...i still love him.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Oh heavens

So remember when Owen wouldn't sleep through the night for 2 years straight? Well after a few sleepless nights and tough love, he is cured!! Here is what went down during nap time yesterday-

me- "ok O, its time to take a nap, lets go read a story."

O- " Ok mom. lets go to bed"

me- "have a good nap"

O- "You too mom."

WHAT?! Where is my child? I think the big man upstairs decided to reward us big time after 2 yrs of sleepless nights! Holy moly. Its heaven, Now if we could just get this little fella to sleep through the night.

So here is how it went down...


My sister and I ventured out to the big city (salt lake that is) to attend the MIKA concert. First of all, he is the BEST because of the following reasons-

-he wears super tight purple pants
-he is a total HENSON from the 80's with the shaggy hair and skinny legs
-he is a super alternative and hip european singer without being super popular...YET.

So the night went like this...we get there at 6:30 and wait in the freezing cold for 2 hours before they open the door to the venue (yes, the venue, Haley and I went clubbing without even knowing it). We made some cool friends however during our wait. All were drunk but super funny. (One in fact, was a 2nd grade school teacher). They asked to buy us drinks when we got inside but then said "oh wait, you have to be over 21". Um....well we hit that hump a while back. Anywho, after turning them down and saying our goodbyes, haley and I made our way towards the front (didn't make it all the way) and enjoyed the greatest show ever! The bands equipment didn't quite make it because of the snow but MIKA managed to throw down a pretty sweet acustic show! He will be returning to SLC another day because we were such a hip loud crowd. All in all, having soar breasts, tired legs from standing all night, and smelling of "club" was totally worth seeing MIKA perform for 45minutes.

what we've been up to...

A. I figure if i am going to be home all day, i might as well bite the bullet and start potty training. Day 1 is down and all in all he did pretty awesome. Skittles have never served a better purpose (his reward for going on his potty). I have rags on hand 24-7 for messes...cross your fingers this doesn't take long.

B. My little Ladies Man is gettin bigger. 7lbs 1oz to be exact at his last appt. He is quite the spitter and pooper. Last night Tyson got thrown up on and peed on a few times. Nothin like taking a shower at 2am right honey?

C. Owen likes to be artsy...on other people's faces. Sorry dear Shelby. I thought the giggles coming from his room that night were pure innocence. Boy was i wrong.

D. Once again, Owen playing with Millie and being a pest. I did get a moment of smiles when they had food in their hands. notice each of them wearing a boot of Owens.
