Its official...one of my worst fears has come true.
I got attacked by a dog while running.
Running the Y... and that yellow dog looked me right in the eyes.
I passed him and he jumped on my side..and got a hold of my meaty love handle.
I have a nice gash.
The bad news is....
I don't know the dog, the owner, or any immunization information on the dog...
I know the odds are low, but i don't want rabies.
So here is what i am looking for....
a teenage girl, who had glasses, who was walking a medium sized yellow-lab like looking dog on the lower part of the Y trail. The girl had a few small children with her (im guessing she was babysitting) around 4:45pm yesterday.
Any info would help.
But until then..stay away :) i don't want to spread my rabies onto you.
XOXO

oh no!! that is scary. I'm sorry. how horrific. how did you pry yourself loose?
big dogs give me the heeby jeebies. if i ever own a dog, it will be small and cute.
hope your gash heals ok!
I can't believe that! It's crazy the "babysitter" didn't stop to help. I hope you are okay? Was it a bad bite? I'm sorry that happened to you! Just another reason why I'm not a dog person anymore.
Ouch!! I hope you're okay!! That's my worst fear too while running, or being attacked by a mountain lion. I saw that on TV once. Scary. I'll keep my eyes peeled for you (I go running in those neighborhood hilly areas by the Y).
that is so scary! I am so sorry! how did you escape? how many times did he bite you? I would have freaked! I hate all animals!
That has always been my nightmare!! I am so sorry!! Hope all goes well!
yikes! I am always scared of that too! You poor thing! Hope you don't need stitches!
You need to run with mace. Put it in your bra or somewhere were it's not a huge pain in the booty. So when that happens again you can spray the crap out of that bad bad dog...
Scary. I am still a little traumatized by the time I got bit... that is because the dog came after Bridger (who was one) and I barely picked him up in time and the dog got me instead! I could never stop thinking about- what if I hadn't picked him up fast enough! AWFUL! I hope you find the dog. But I am assuming if the dog was walking with kids it probably doesn't have rabies... hopefully!!
SCARY! I'm totally an animal lover, but that would scare me to death! I doubt you have rabies, but you should report it to animal control anyway.
I hope your ok. That has been one of my biggest fear's while I'm out running too! I have had little small dogs chase after me and that is still a little scary one bite and you never know! That is why people need to keep their dogs on a leash! Well I hope you kind her and the dog good luck! p.s. did you report it to the police?
Lindsey - I am so sorry! That's crazy. That's one of my fears too (I'm VERY afraid of dogs). I hope that you're feeling okay - how bad was the bite? Did you have to go to the Dr? How did it all happen? How did you get the dog off you and get away? I hope that you're okay - good luck trying to find the person!
oh dear....scary!! Hey isn't your father in law a lawyer?? Find that owner....jk :)
It drives me crazy that so many dogs wander unleashed in Utah, with or without their owners. I was just in Utah and was appalled when I went for a jog and saw dog after dog without a leash or owner. I am so sorry you were bit--what a nightmare! I hope this doesn't happen again and that you can run in peace.
