As part of my birthday this year, Tyson and I were able to escape with some good buddies and go to Lake Powell for a few days...kid-less!
Lake Powell is like a little piece of Heaven for me.
I love that place and hope to go back next year...kid-less.
We swam when we got hot.
We wakeboarded and ski'd when we wanted.
We stayed up late and played games on the rocks.
We slept ALL night in a tent and woke up when we felt like it.
We hiked to Rainbow Bridge leaisurly.
And then came home to happy, well taken care of kiddos,
a birthday dinner and then cake and ice cream with my family.
It was the perfect birthday and it feels good to be 27!
Red Rock Relay was last weekend (186 mile relay divided between 12 peeps). We ran from Brian Head Ski Resort to Zions. Despite all the fun cutesy pics, there was running involved i swear! and lots of it.... But since our team name was "Were kind of a big deal"....we can do whatever we want...like wear fake mustaches around and quote Ron Burgandy till our hearts content. for example... 
"People know me"
and "60% of the time we win everytime" (we can tweek it just because we can...)
The red rock peeps thought it would be a cool idea to dram 3 lines on our legs for the number of times we ran..well it was a good idea until the ink rubbed off on our teammates leather seats. oops.
The best part about the race besides the 3 hr sleep on wet church lawn and all the nasty girl talk and the fake staches and the fact that everyone and their dog quoted Ron to us at every exchange and the super bright shiny stars on my run at midnight and the near death experience when our driver fell asleep at the wheel somewhere between cedar city and no mans land (we can laugh now) is the treat it is to spend time with sister and mom and be able to be running buddies for life. (dad wasn't invited because it was all females but he knows where he stands too). till next year ladies!
